Curriculum Vitae
Ryan Frazier
Infrastructure & Security Architect, now pointing the same tuning instinct at AI infrastructure.
15+ years designing, securing, and optimizing global hybrid environments — Zero-Trust, cloud, and the automation that makes the busywork run itself.
Profile
I build and secure the systems businesses run on, then tune them until they hum — connecting the tools a company already uses so the busywork runs itself. My career throughline is infrastructure and security across global hybrid estates; where I'm heading next is AI infrastructure, applying the same instinct for performance, observability, and automation to a new stack.
I work best close to a technical team — designing the architecture, standing up the monitoring that focuses the effort, and validating that the work paid off. Recently that's meant shipping production automation and the firm's first AI agent, on an air-gapped, zero-data-egress model.
Experience
VP, IT Infrastructure & Security
Ocean Partners — global commodities trading · Remote
- Promoted from Security & Infrastructure Manager; lead architect for a global hybrid estate of 60+ Windows, CentOS, and Rocky Linux servers and ~160 identities.
- Replaced a legacy SSL VPN with a Zero-Trust / Secure Service Edge (Netskope) architecture — always-on, least-exposure access company-wide.
- Hardened global identity with advanced Entra ID Conditional Access, MFA, SSPR, and PIM — near-zero account takeovers throughout tenure.
- Introduced AI-driven email threat protection, cutting phishing exposure and quarantine noise to near zero.
- Standardized endpoint management via Intune / Autopilot — new-machine build time from ~a day to 1–2 hours.
- Stood up the firm's first production AI agent for help-desk triage on an air-gapped, zero-data-egress Azure-hosted LLM.
- Built continuous device-health assurance reconciling Intune, Netskope, and Lansweeper daily; own a 20–30 vendor, ~$600K security/infrastructure portfolio.
- Stood up a live AWS footprint — WatchGuard Firebox Cloud + Zabbix on a Multi-AZ RDS backend.
Consulting Systems & Network Engineer
Network Synergy — managed services provider · Trumbull, CT
- Customer-facing delivery across a portfolio of enterprise clients — scoped needs, designed solutions, and led rollouts under SLA across concurrent engagements.
- Delivered Exchange and Active Directory migrations plus security-hardening; engineered high-availability VMware clusters and SAN storage.
- Designed secure network topologies — firewalls, VPN tunnels, redundant ISP failover — with documentation and knowledge transfer for client teams.
- Marc Fisher Footwear: scoped and sold a full overhaul — all-flash EMC SAN + 10G core refresh — that resolved ERP/SQL reporting bottlenecks.
Systems & Infrastructure Administrator
PTA Plastics · Oxford, CT
- Introduced server virtualization in 2006, ahead of mainstream adoption — consolidated a sprawling physical farm and cut cost, footprint, and overhead.
- Built, solo, a full-stack IIS / .NET + SQL expense-approval app with Active Directory–driven routing that ran in production for ~a decade.
- Managed companywide network, firewalls, backups, and WAN/LAN/WLAN architecture.
Computer Technician
ACR Computer · Waterbury, CT
- Built, repaired, and maintained client systems; delivered technical training and end-user support.
